Barbara Jean (Coghill) Michaels

Barbara Jean Michaels (Coghill), surrounded by her loving family, Barbara peacefully passed away on the evening of June 7, 2018.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Dennis and their children, Nicholas (Kathryn), Matt, and Megan (Wayne).  Barbara will also be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, Johnny, Morgan, Jayla, Jackson, Arwen, Seren and Christian.  She was the daughter of the late Cortlandt and Elizabeth Jean Coghill.  She is also survived by brothers, Cortlandt Coghill III (Sue), Tom Coghill, and sister Judith Rubel (Don).  Barbara's life was filled with many joyous moments with her family and friends.  She loved to help others and graciously devoted time and energy to make other people happy.  In addition to raising a family, she was a dedicated nurse, consultant, and a former Pittsburgh Police Officer.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and traveling, but her greatest joy was being a grandmother.  Barbara was a beacon of hope and optimism and anyone whom she met was a better person for having known her.
