Daniel James Holko

Daniel James Holko, age 36, of Ross Township, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 25, 2022; In his home town of Pittsburgh, PA. Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 2014, and fought for 8 long years before succumbing to his injury. Born in Pittsburgh, He was the son of Donna (Sovyak) Holko and William Holko.;  He was a 2004 graduate of North Catholic High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown. After college he was employed at SMG. After several years of employment he decided to make a career change. He applied and was accepted into the Pittsburgh Fire Academy. After completing his training, with less than two weeks before his graduation, he was hit by a drunk driver. Which forever changed his life. Daniel is survived by his parents Donna (Sovyak) Holko and William Holko, Siblings  Kevin (April) Holko and Gabrielle (Cailin) Holko-McCullion; Uncle of Kevin, Sean, Ryan, Mason and Alexis Holko; Daniel is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends;  Friends and Family will be received on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm  & 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc., 3552 California Avenue at Davis Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA   15212-2104;  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10:00 am at Christ Our Savior, St. Peter Church; Interment will follow in Christ Our Redeemer, North Side Catholic Cemetery.
