Mildred C. Pullen

Mildred C. Pullen, age 94,  of Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.  Beloved Wife of the late John Edward Pullen, Sr.; Mildred was one of 11 children born to Joseph A. and Catherine (Blatt) Schmitt;  Mother of John Edward Pullen, Jr., Theresa M. (David) Natale, Denise Pullen, Michele C. (Craig) Castiglione and the late Gary P. (surviving Michelle) Pullen; Grandmother of Amy Pullen, Nikiya Natale, Gina Natale (Steven Whiteman), Todd Pullen, Brandon Burch, David (Taylor) Natale, Zoë Burch, Cory (Geanna) Pullen, Tyler Pullen; Great-grandmother of  Annalise Pullen, Santino Natale, Niko Natale and Colton Whiteman; Sister of Paul Schmitt, Therese Smith, Rita Clare Daily and the late Eleanor M. Christopher, Robert Schmitt, Raymond M. Schmitt, Arthur J. Schmitt, Ruth Hulings, John "Jack" Schmitt, and Joseph A. Schmitt.

Millie maintained a strong, loving family through many generations.  That is her greatest accomplishment.  Her doors were always open to relatives, children, and a few friends who needed a place to call home, have a meal, or just take a nap.  No terms, no limits.  

Millie was married to John E Pullen, Sr. from 1950 until his passing in 1994.  Through their years together, they supported each other, and their children and grandchildren through all their trials and triumphs.

Hailed in her high school yearbook as class clown, Millie loved to laugh.  For her family, laughter is an expression of love.  She also shared her love for good food and fashion.  A cosmetology student after high school, Millie was famous for being "put together."  She took a job with "the local" Rite Aid during her early retirement where she became their beauty consultant.

When Millie moved to Westminster Place Senior Care in 2016, she brought her charm, hijinks and impressive wardrobe with her.  Residents and staff loved and will miss their "fashion diva."  They were her second family for over a decade. 

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Presbyterian Senior Care Benevolent Care (Oakmont Campus), or Bridges Hospice.

Family and Friends received Friday 5:00  pm - 7:00  pm at the Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc. 3552 California Avenue at Davis Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15212, Where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Interment to follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
