THOMAS EDWARD BAHNEY Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Thomas Edward Bahney passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 4, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Bahney, and by his loving wife, Judy Bahney. Tom’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family.
He is survived by his siblings Patricia, William, and Kathy; his children Thomas (Melinda), Michael (Kim), Claire (Kevin), Richard, and Jackie (Chris); his grandchildren Julia, Dylan, Alex, Ryan, and Richie; and many other nieces and nephews.
Tom was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army, where he earned the Bronze Star for bravery and courage in combat. He later continued his service in the United States Air Force Reserves. Throughout his career, he worked with Boilermakers Local 154 and Plumbers Local 27 and was a proud tradesman with a strong work ethic.
Tom lived an active life as an avid golfer and was always happy to spend a day on the course. He enjoyed occasional trips to the casino and loved sharing stories of the trips he and Judy had taken. He was also a dedicated member of the American Legion, where he spent time playing shuffleboard, darts, pool, and bowling while building many friendships. Whether enjoying time with friends and family or sharing a good cigar, Tom’s outgoing personality and constant joking will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends will be received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc. 3552 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a small service on Monday at 11 a.m.
In place of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to American Legion Post 351, 4491 Verona Road, Verona, PA 15146.
Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, where Tom will receive military honors in recognition of his service to his country.
Tom was a great man with an unforgettable smile, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
