Wayne Carlton Massey, born on March 13, 1965, in New York passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of creativity, intellect, and passion. He was the beloved son of Ocie M. Cureton and William J. Massey (Barbara).A graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, NY, Wayne was a man of many talents. He was a gifted drummer, playing with passion in the heavy metal group Molasses Barge. His artistic soul led him to become a curator, preserving and presenting stories in unique and thought-provoking ways. As a member of the Jump Cut Theatre Group, he found joy in the world of film and storytelling.

A true scholar and lover of knowledge, Wayne was a movie and book enthusiast, always eager to engage in deep discussions. His love for trivia made him a wealth of fascinating facts, and his keen intellect inspired all who knew him. As a photographer, he had a special appreciation for black-and-white imagery, capturing the world's beauty through a lens of contrast and emotion.

Wayne was self-employed as a retailer with his wife Allison, owning and operating A&W Sons, where he applied his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft. Above all, Wayne was a devoted husband to his wife, Allison K. Massey. Their bond was a testament to love, support, and shared dreams. He was also loved by his three sisters, Theresa Massey Blake (Edward) of Lancaster and Charleston, SC, Aneesah Massey Flagg of Goose Creek, SC, Cassandra Burnett Pruitt of Lancaster, SC, two brothers, Wesley Williams III (Verneal) of Augusta, GA, Jimal Burnett of Heath Springs, SC, Special Cousin/Brother, Joshua Cureton of New York, God Parent, Columbus "Chick" Harris, special friends, Rachel Fleming, Gizzy and Susan Mazur, eleven nephews, five nieces and a host of special family and friends from around the world in whom he loved. Wayne's presence was as profound as his passions. His music, his wisdom, and his artistic vision touched the lives of many. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved him. Rest in peace, Wayne. Your rhythm, your vision, and your legacy will never fade.
