Claudia A. (Titchnell) Griffiths

June 1, 1944 — January 7, 2022

Montrose, PA, formerly of Pittsburgh

Claudia A. Griffiths, 77, of Montrose, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 7, 2022, joining her husband, Thomas G. Griffiths, who had been waiting for her, since 2016.  Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Leonidas and Ella (Latta) Titchnell, Claudia graduated from David B. Oliver High School and earned her cosmetology degree from Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.  She made her home with Tom in Montrose in 1969.

Forest Lake is where they raised their four children, who survive her with their spouses, Tom II (Karen) of Lansdale, PA, Lonnie of Chester, VT, Nick (Heidi) of Redington Shores, FL, and Natalie (Jeffrey) Bowman of Columbus, GA.  Claudia's greatest joy was being a Mom and Grandma.  There was no road too long, that she would not travel to see her kids or grandkids, perform, or, play sports or music.  Her children and grandchildren knew that if they were to turn to look out into the stands or audience, that they would see her, watching with pride.

She was a band mom, a soccer mom, and a Girl Scout mom.  If that didn't keep her busy enough, Claudia was also a highly skilled seamstress.  She stitched love into every custom creation for her family.  There was nothing that her kids and grandkids could dream up that she could not create.  Joe, Tom III, Emma, Elle, Jack, Kate, Gilly, Claudia and Zach, always looked forward to their costumes, and took pride when saying "My Grandma made this".

Her family adored her fun and adventurous side as well.  She loved riding "rolly" coasters (as she affectionately called them), watching scary movies or riding on the back of Tom's Harley Davidson Road King.  They traveled by land, air and sea, all over the globe, but their favorite place, was sitting around their table with loved ones, sharing stories about their journey.

Claudia was an active member of the community.  She enjoyed chit chatting with her friends during Forest Lake Women's Club and Red Hat Society events.  She was always known to make a friend or two, in line at the bank.  Even a simple errand turned into a social outing when Claudia was around.  She was a member in good standing at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church.

Precious loved ones include Claudia's surviving siblings, sister Ella Cousins McCrackin, brothers George and Michael (Dyan) Titchnell. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, June (Larry) Gerken and shared a special bond with June and Larry 's children, Larry and Diane.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to family friend, Janet Small, for all her kindness and support throughout the years, especially the last five years and the beloved Worrell family, who are more than neighbors, they are family.
