Helen Theresa (Hermaszewski) Berecky

Helen Theresa Berecky, 86, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023.  Beloved Wife of the late Dennis Paul Berecky, whom she loved with all of her heart.  She was the loving Mother of Mary Berecky, James Berecky, Helen (Stephen) Sutcavage, Deborah (Daryl) Nelson, Nancy (Greg) Lomasney, and Edward (Renata) Berecky.  Survived by seven grandchildren.

Mom was born in Poland, survived WWII and came to America where she met and fell in love with our father, Dennis Berecky.  The two shared a wonderful 55 years of marriage.  They were truly a match made in heaven.

She was a devout Catholic and always believed in the power of prayer.  She would always say she is praying for us and we have no doubt that she is gazing down upon us from heaven with one of her prayer books in hand.

Mom enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and granddogs.  She enjoyed gardening and was extremely proud of her yard.  The world will be less beautiful without her and her flowers in it.  She also enjoyed fashion.  We never saw her in an outfit that wasn't a complete fashion ensemble.

Our mom will be deeply missed by family and friends.  We are comforted knowing that she is looking down on us from heaven along with our dad, Dennis
