Janice A. (Gomerick) Platek

Janice A.. (Gomerick), of Ross Township,, on Saturday, May 29, 2021, age 78,   received her angel wings and went with God.  Devoted wife of 58 years to the late Vincent Platek; Loving Mother to her ten (10) children from oldest to youngest:  Vinnie (Diane), Rene (David) Williams, Jeff (Joann), Susan (Alan) Wright, Michele (Vince) Yakemovicz, Greg (Jennifer), Eric (Dawn), Michael (Michaela), Steve (Jennifer), and Roxane (Derek) Wright; Janice was grandmother to seventeen (17)  grandchildren and one (1) great-grandson, Elijah Stoltz; She was "Gooma" to Rebecca (Dan) Wilson, Jessica Platek, Bree Wright, Jordan Wright, Alexis Platek, and Noah, Katelyn, Jocelyn, Tobi and Izzy Platek;  She was also a loving sister to Ronnie Gomerick and Gene Lucas;  She will be greatly missed by her loving fur companions Brandy and Duke.  Janice was the matriarch of the Platek family.  She married her husband Vince in 1962 and raised  ten (1) children of her own and one grandchild while her husband worked to support their family.  She had a larger than life personality, sharp as a whip with the most infectious laugh.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Per her wishes, THERE WILL BE NO SERVICE OR VISITATION.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to  UPMC Passavant  McCandless Hospital.  The family also asks for prayers for her son Greg Platek who was her caregiver 24/7 all the way to the end.  He sacrificed so much of his life and made every effort to make her number one priority in his life.  The entire Platek family is thankful for his dedication to their mother.
