Stephen Louis Avetta

Stephen Louis Avetta, age 93, of Ohio Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Husband of the late Vera Avetta; beloved father of Stephen (Barbara) Avetta and Carolyn Avetta; grandfather of Jennifer (Michael) Salamon and Aaron (Jennifer) Avetta; cherished Pop Pop to Roman, Lillie, Jason, Hunter, Sophia, Guinevere, Oliver, and Blake; also survived by nieces and nephews,. Preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Rose, his sister Mary Bigante, and granddaughter Sarah Jane. Stephen served in the Korean War, earning the rank of corporal in the United States Army. After returning from the war, he finished school and became an engineer, working at Eichealy Corp. until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, flying model airplanes, cooking, and watching hockey. A small service will be held 10:30 am at the funeral home before before burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
